Ranthambore National Park-
Ranthambore National Park, another grand visitor’s
attraction, is situated in Eastern Rajasthan at the
confluence of the Aravali hill ranges and the
Vindhyan plateau. It was the main and famous hunting
ground space for the Maharajas of Jaipur. The
Chambal River in the South and the Banas River in
the North Two, these two main rivers flow through
the Ranthambore National Park. Many other perennial
streams and the six man-made lakes are the other
major pass through the Ranthambore National Park.
The National Park got the pride to be a game
sanctuary in 1955 and attained the status og the
National Park in 1980. This National Park was
declared as a tiger reserve in India in 1972 with
the initiation of Project Tiger. The complete area
covered by the park is 1334 sq km. along with its
adjoining sanctuaries - the Kaila Devi Sanctuary and
the Mansingh Sanctuary.

during the visit that out of the whole park some
areas are open for the tourists to wander in and
explore the flora and fauna of the park. The Park is
nestled between the Aravali and Vindhya mountain
ranges. The main features of the park are its rugged
terrain and the dense deciduous forests, which has
among the largest and most diverse collection of
wildlife species in India and can be attained
beautifully.

There is a best time for exploring the beauty of the park is between November
and May when the nature of the dry deciduous forests makes sightings common. It
is situated between the Aravali and Vindhya ranges covering the area of nearly
400 sq. km. The deciduous forest of this National park were once a part of the
magnificent jungles of Central India.
Ranthambore National Park has the glorious diversity with 200 species of birds,
plants and animals, specially 30 species of mammals as well as the tiger and 12
species of the reptiles. There are many lakes containing the lurking crocodiles.
You may explored the main lakes there named as Padam Talab, Malik Talab and
Rajbagh. A traveler can realize the beauty in the park of the peacocks, langures,
wild boars, spotted deer, sambar deer, blue bull, black buck and crocodiles.
There are another major attractions in the park that can also be explored by the
tourists such as the Ranthambore Fort and Jogi Mahal. This park got its name
through the Ranthambore Fort, which sits on a rocky outcrop in the heart of the
Park. Its was created in the 10th centaury and is the oldest fort in the
Rajasthan. It latter boasts of the second-largest Banyan tree in India.
