Kumbhalgarh Sanctuary -
This famous Kumbhalgarh National Park is situated in
Rajasthan, 90 kms. from Jodhpur on the Udaipur -
Pali - Jodhpur road. There is a historical
Kumbalgarh Fort and used to shield the fort from
invaders. Now it is used to protects the unique
species of animals, struggling for their survival.
Kumbalgarh is mainly belongs to the Wolf, the only
sanctuary of Rajasthan, situated in the lush green
region of Udaipur. Kumbhalgarh is the second most
important citadel after Chittourgarh in the Mewar
region. It is bounded by the Aravali hills and this
sanctuary is spread over the regions of Rajsamand
and Udaipur. This is the fast turning point of
visitors attractions. This National park is famous
for its wolves. A traveler can explore the natural
beauty of the forest that see a great many species
of flora and fauna.
You can hear some sweet sound of some rare birds.
The simmering and enchanted voice of various types
of birds can be realized here in this amazing and
glorious park. Kumbhalgarh National Park includes
leopards, hyena, jackal, sloth bear, sambhar, nilgai
and gazelles that are supported by the Sanctuary.
And other avian species include fowls, peacocks,
doves, parakeets, golden orioles, doves and
kingfishers.

Kumbhalgarh Fort is also one of the most popular destination to visit here.
It is situated in the Mewar region. It was constructed by Maharana Kumbha in the
15th century and is positioned far away from the city limits. The walls of the
forts are stretched for miles and the typical houses various temples, palaces,
gardens and water storage tanks. This ancient monument creates a mystical aura
and many a historical events unfolds in it selves. It is 578 sq Kms in area and
at an altitude of 500 to 1,300m.
The life of the wondering and fascinating birds at Kumbhalgarh is also
gratifying. Beautiful and un-trusted grey jungle fowl can be spotted in the
Kumbhalgarh. You can feel the joy by watching peacocks and doves regularly
feeding on grains scattered by the jungle guards. The red spur owls, Parakeets,
golden Oriole, grey Pigeons, Bulbul, Dove and white breasted kingfisher can also
be visualized in this park near the water holes.
The magical beauty of Kumbhalgarh attracts various tourists and especially for
its accessibility from Udaipur, which is 100 Kms from here. Horse safari and
foot tracking is very popular here and can be organized by the Tour India
Rajasthan, a India tour operators. A complex safari route enters the sanctuary
from the Kumbhalgarh Fort and taking a tour to the sanctuary it reaches Ghanerao,
and then borders an old abandoned road. A beautiful sight you can see here like
as Chinkaras, Neelgais, four horned Antelope and many birds.
One can see the look of the panther, sloth bear wild bear and bread crocodile in
the lake that’s are also the major tourist attraction on the Kumbhalgarh
National Park. The sanctuary is also well known for flamingos, cormorants,
spoonbills and egrets usually seen in the winter.
