Fairs & Festivals-
India is the land of festivals and fairs and many
various activities can be celebrated here. As it is
said there are more festivals in India comparing
with others. India has various fair and festivals
with the lend color and gaiety of life. Some
festivals are related to religious nature and some
changes in the seasons and harvesting. The glorious
fairs and Festivals of India bind the people of the
nation across various states and religions in a
unique way and provide a spectacle that can not be
realized any where else in the world. Ritual designs
are prepared before entering in the house at the
time of festivals.
Holi
Holi, the festival of colors, is celebrated on the
day after the full moon early in the march every
year. There are many ancient stories lies behind
this festival but popularly known as by the majority
of peoples that the devotee of lord Vishnu, Bakt
Prahlad, seated on the lap of demoness Holika, was
saved from the effect of the fire by God and the
demoness got burnt instead. Holi is celebrated also
in the welcome of climax of spring.

Diwali
Diwali is celebrated due to the auspicious occasion of lord Rama and Sita
returning to their capital Ayodhya from the exile. Diwali is the most popular
festival of India that is celebrated with full of its glories in all over the
country. It usually comes during 15 October to 15 November. Diwali, the festival
of light, symbolize the victory of righteousness and the lifting of spiritual
darkness. It is celebrated by lighting Diyas, Lamps, decorating houses by the
ritual designs, burning crackers and inviting their relatives for partaking in
the sumptuous feast.
ID
ID, the most popular festivals of Muslims, is celebrated in the month of Ramzan.
It is the most significant festival of Muslims that is celebrated with lot of
joy after completing the prayer in the end of the month of Ramzan. Muslims
celebrate Id thrice in a year.
15th August
15th August is celebrated by all Indians because on this day in the year 1947,
India received independence from the British rule. It is our national festival.
Onam
Onam, the harvest festival of Kerela, is an attraction for peoples not only from
India but also outside India peoples. It is celebrated from 4 days to the 10
days and all the activities during this season are celebrated as worshipping,
music, dances, sports, boat races and good food. It is celebrated in the
Malyalam month Chingam. The merry making nature of this festival is spectacular
snake boat racing on river Pampa. Houses are designed with colored rice paste
know as the rangolis and peoples are dressed well like as women in new saries
and heavy jewelry. Every one in the Kerela prepared well for this festival by
decorating their houses and by making delicious foods and sweets that is served
on banana leaves. One important thing that would be easily visible outside each
house is the ‘pookalam' a flower mat.
Dushhara
Dushhara, celebrated by the Hindus, is a sign of victory of good over iniquity.
Dushhara is celebrated because Ravan, the symbol of evil and the king of Lanka,
is defeated by Lord Rama. It comes before some days from the festival Diwali.
This day the caricatures of Ravan are build and burned in the evening that shows
the end of evils.
Christmas
Christmas is celebrated in all over the country and in the world due to the
birth of Jesus Christ on 25 December every year. Despite the same underlying
spirit, the celebration of Christmas in India is different in various parts of
this country. In some parts of India small clay oil-burning lamps are used as
Christmas decorations. People decorates their houses by Christmas trees with
figure of baby Jesus, Mother Mary and such other scenes of Jesus’s birth in the
Bible. One can find the beautifully decorated Christmas tree with a midnight
mass depict the beginning of Christmas.
26th January
26 January, the Republic day of India, is celebrated by all Indians. In the year
1950, the constitution of India is enforced. India displays its development and
its power in front of the peoples of India at the Parad Ground in New Delhi.
Various architectures and sculptures like joyous celebrations, music, dance and
festivals popularly known as Jhankis, are putted on the way.
India is so called the land of festival because there are many festivals
celebrated by the Indian in every year. India has all sorts of fair and
festivals like animal fairs, religious fairs and there are fairs to scratch the
